“Looking at my midfield three today. I thought it was a disgrace, Tottenham’s midfield.” Carragher told Sky Sports. “You’re playing in a semi-final. In the first 15 minutes, half an hour Liverpool are going to have the ball. They’re going to put you under pressure, but you’ve got to chase them, be aggressive.”
“Maybe you forget about it in the first half an hour. But you have to be aggressive even in your own half. Liverpool still get into the box easily. The midfield doesn’t even make a tackle. It’s shocking.”
Carragher also quipped that Liverpool’s FA Cup clash with League Two side Accrington was an even tougher game.
“I thought about the cup game Liverpool played at home a few weeks ago in the FA Cup. Liverpool didn’t field their best team. But I thought Accrington Stanley played better than Tottenham tonight and caused Liverpool more problems.”
