While Wirtz already agreed a five-year deal with Liverpool two weeks ago. It is now just a matter of undergoing a medical and signing the official contract.

Another journalist, Sacha Tavoleri, reported that Wirtz is set to travel to Liverpool in the next few hours for a medical.

For Wirtz, who is now 22, he has played 197 matches for Leverkusen. Scoring 57 goals and providing 65 assists, helping the team win the double in the 2023/24 season.

He was a trainee at Cologne before being snapped up by the German giants in 2020 for a fee of around €200,000. Before moving to the Bundesliga and Premier League for a record €150 million.

Romano confirmed on Tuesday that “Liverpool verbally agree deal in principle. With Bayer Leverkusen for package reaching €150m add-ons included.” adding that the “player side already agreed two weeks ago with move now imminent” and that “Wirtz set for medical and contract signing.”
